Well known for its porcelain production in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province is situated at the lower middle reaches of the Yangtze River and has a population of 42 million. 166,900 square kilometers in size, the province is rich in minerals, such as coal and copper, and manufactures large amounts of tea leaves, tobacco, cotton and lilies. At the same time, Jiangxi serves as an important intersection of the Beijing- Kowloon and Hangzhou-Nanchang Railways. Its capital, Nanchang is a vital railway hub of the province, in which more than 70 pairs of train depart and arrive the station on a daily basis.
The Jiangxi cuisine features the spicy taste and freshwater fishes. Local favorites include stir-fried fish, Lushan Stonefish, three cups chicken in light wine and garlic sauce, preserved bacon and Nanchang spiced duck.

Nanchang
This 2,000-year- old city is the provincial capital, as well as the birthplace of the Chinese People's Liberation Army; therefore, Nanchang is also known as the "City of Heroes".
- Prince of Teng's Pavilion
Built in 659, the pavilion is 57.5 meters in height and is said to be comparable to the Yellow Crane Pavilion in Hubei province and the Yueyang Pavilion in Hunan province. It is certainly a great spot to enjoy Nanchang city's spectacular sceneries.
- Nanchang Uprising Museum
The museum pursues precious documents, photos and detailed information regarding the Communist led uprising in 1927.
- Jiangxi Provincial History Museum
Covering 26,000 square kilometers of floor space, the museum possesses over 15,000 revolutionary relics and approximately 100,000 cultural and historical artifacts, such as calligraphy arts, paintings, pottery, porcelain, etc.
Lushan Mountain Scenic Spot
Located right above the Yangtze River to the south of Jiujiang on one side, Lushan Mountain pursues mysterious caves, unique rock formations, fabulous seas of clouds, rare trees and plants, and waterfalls that are said to be the best "under heaven".
Longhu Mountain
Also known as the Dragon and Tiger Mountain (Longhu meant dragon and tiger in Chinese), this gorgeous mountain surrounded by spectacular caves, marvelous limestone formations and cliffs is regarded as the holy land of Taoism.
One of the best ways to explore the area is taking a cruise along the Luxi River, in which visitors may spot coffins suspending on various cliffs. Many visitors think the wonderful views of Longhu Mountain are comparable to those in Guilin. Interestingly enough, the Elephant Trunk Hill is also one of the scenic spots in the Longhu Mountain area.
Sanqing Mountain
Sanqing Mountain is reputable for its marvelous rock prominences. The most remarkable ones are in the shapes of a beautiful maiden, a gigantic serpent attempting to exit a hill, a penguin representing a bouquet of flowers, etc.
Jinggang Mountain Scenic Zone
Covering an area of 213.5 square kilometers, the Jinggang Mountain possesses gorgeous streams, fantastic waterfalls, bamboo groves and various kinds of flowers. The scenic zone is not just famous for its spectacular sceneries; it is also known as the Communist revolutionary base.
- Former Residences of Communist Revolutionary Leaders
Communist Revolutionary leaders Mao Zedong and Zhu De lived in the Jinggang Mountain area for over a year to strengthen and safeguard the revolutionary forces.
- Jinggang Mountain Revolutionary Museum
The seven exhibition halls of the museum contain displays of photos, documents and other revolutionary related information. This remarkable museum is regarded as one of the most important institution to enforce patriotism among the native Chinese.
- Wuzhi Peak
It is the major peak of Jinggang Mountain and the best place to enjoy its surrounding sceneries. Visitors can also tour the man-made Jinggang Lake by motorboats to take a closer glance of nature. Furthermore, the first financial institute that issued the first $100 RMB bill is located at the foot of Jinggang Mountain; that was why the mountain was printed on the bill as its background.
