- warranting that, if the essay has been previously published or submitted for publication, you have the necessary permissions to submit your essay to this competition
Official Terms and Conditions – Lotus Travel Competition
Copyright for all works submitted to the Lotus Travel Essay Competition (“The Competition”) remains with the author/s at all times. Anyone submitting work to The Competition represents and warrants that (i) s/he is the author and rightful owner and copyright holder of such work and has rights to submit such work, (ii) such work is original material, has not been copied, in whole or in part, from any other work, (iii) if previously published, produced or distributed, such work has the authorizations necessary for submission to this competition, and (iv) such work does not defame, and does not infringe or violate the right of privacy, right of publicity, copyright, trademark, service mark, trade secret, or any intellectual property, proprietary or other right(s) of any third party.
In submitting work to The Competition, the author/s and rightful owner and copyright holder is granting Lotus Travel Inc. an irrevocable, perpetual license to reproduce, print, publish and otherwise publicize (collectively, “dissemination”) the work at Lotus Travel’s sole discretion in any publication, website and elsewhere. In all such dissemination of the work, Lotus Travel will give proper attribution to the author of the work.
If an author’s work has been selected to be disseminated, Lotus Travel Inc. retains rights to reproduce, print, publish and otherwise publicize the work. The author may submit the work for publication elsewhere.
All decisions made by Lotus Travel Inc. in judging of entries to The Competition will be final. No correspondence will be entered into with authors about the reasons behind the selection decisions.
The offer to submit work for The Competition is void where prohibited by law. United States federal, state and local laws and regulations apply and the exclusive jurisdiction of United States Courts shall prevail. Lotus Travel Inc. is not responsible for any individual’s inability to enter The Competition, including but not limited to: failed software or hardware transmissions; unavailable network, server, telephone or other connections; errors of any kind, whether human, electronic, or mechanical regarding lost, misdirected, late, incomplete or damaged entries; or for any damage to any computer, network, hardware or software related to or resulting from participation.
